Launch of the Inclusive Media Training

Read in french

As part of their partnership with the Centre de développement professionnel PRAXIS, the Laboratoire CinéMédias and the cinEXmedia partnership are proud to announce the launch of a new Inclusive Media Training course in the fall of 2022.

Open to students of all levels as well as to professionals, this training will introduce you to the professions of audio and video transcription and voice recognition captioning. It will also introduce you to the new fields of audio description in dance, theater, visual arts and video games.

This three-course, non-credit program is based on the latest research in the field of audio description, video description and captioning, and provides content on Canadian and global media accessibility standards. It will allow you to develop essential technical and theoretical skills in captioning, audio description and video description, including access to specialized equipment and software (e.g. Dragon, Resolve, etc.). Our trainers and guest speakers will give you a glimpse of the reality of their work in the field while educating you on academic research in the field of inclusive media.

You can take the courses separately or combine them for the full course. In all cases, each course completed will lead to a certificate issued by PRAXIS.

For more information on the trainers and the courses offered (schedules and content), see the PDF to download and the training website by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the page.
